DESCRIPTION

Seeking a volunteer to engage in various activities across our school over a duration of nine months, commencing from October 2024. The voluntary role involves active participation in classes and various operations within the educational institution.

– Participation in school class activities 

– Participate in the newspaper and radio project of the school 

– Pedagogical and language support to children in language classes, mostly English and German 

– Use of the etwinning plateform with a group of pupils ( Erasmus projects) 

– Taking pictures and making films for distribution on the school’s webpage 

– Participate in actions like the school second hand shop – Project planning and implementation of own initiatives about solidarity projects in cooperation with other volunteers 

– Participation to midday and lunch activities (with teacher’s help) 

– Individual smaller projects of personal interest

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

The volunteer will be provided with accommodation within the school premises in an apartment fully furnished, to be shared with another volunteer or a language assistant. The accommodation encompasses shared facilities such as a kitchen, bathroom, and laundry services. Despite the apartment being situated within the school complex, the volunteer will be granted access codes for independent entry and exit. The school is conveniently located right in front a bus stop, which avails unrestricted and uncomplicated connections to the city center, free of charge. The volunteer may choose to dine at the school cafeteria or opt to prepare their own meals. Additionally, the volunteer has a small office, complete with a computer, at their disposal.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Volunteers participate in an on-arrival and a mid-term training organized by the France National Agency. In addition, volunteers participle in three regional trainings with other volunteers from different hosting organizations : 3 days on arrival, 1 day mid-term and 2 days before departure. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn French by using the online platform or have French lessons in the IMEP, in Bourges.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We accept applications from young people from the age of 18 – 30 years. 

We expect that you have finished your high school education.

Experience with working with children is advantageous, though not required. 

The volunteer’s personal skills & interests will be considered and an individual time schedule will be made together with the volunteer. 

We expect that the volunteer will actively participate in and be committed to the assignments and activities they are assigned to and that they will cooperate with all staff and also are willing to learn French.
